Red Hawk Casino to Host Holiday Canned Food Drive in Support of Local Food Banks

October 30, 2009 – Red Hawk Casino is pleased to announce that it will host a canned food drive in support of local food banks from Monday, November 2 through Thursday, November 5. Guests who bring three canned food items to Red Hawk Casino during the food drive will receive $5 in free play.

“Red Hawk Casino is proud to host a food drive to help support local food banks who are actively working to feed families in our community this holiday season,” said Terry Contreras, interim general manager, Red Hawk Casino. “We encourage everyone to visit Red Hawk during the food drive and help make a difference through their generous donations of canned food items.”

All canned food items collected during Red Hawk’s food drive will be donated to the Annual El Dorado County Holiday Food and Toy Drive Kickoff, which will be held at PJ’s Roadhouse in Placerville, Calif. on Saturday, November 7 from noon – 5 p.m. Items collected during this event will be donated to local food banks. Red Hawk Casino is sponsoring the annual event, which is organized by the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club of El Dorado County, a local community organization. Popular country and blues singer “Kelli,” will perform during the event at PJ’s Roadhouse prior to her performance on Red Hawk Casino’s Stage Bar later that evening.

In addition to the canned food drive, Red Hawk Casino employees will be giving back to local families this holiday season through the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots™ program. Employees will donate toys from Saturday, November 7 through Thursday, December 17, for distribution to local families.
